Sally Cappitelli, a 60-year resident of Long Beach, died on May 18. She was 95.

Cappitelli was an active member of the local PTAs and Girl Scouts, holding various positions in both organizations. After taking care of her two daughters full-time, she began working as an office manager at Citrus and Allied Essences in New Hyde Park until she retired. During her retirement she was a part-time volunteer at the Long Beach Public Library, where she registered people for defensive driving courses and other various organizations.

For the past 25 years she was committed to furthering women’s equality in the workplace through three professional businesswomen’s groups, New York State Women, Inc., Business and Professional Women International and American Association of University Women (AAUW).

Cappitelli is survived by her daughters Stephanie Cappitelli and Rayna Frangos, husband Michael, and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily and Christopher. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations in Cappitelli’s name be made to the Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 67, Voorheesville, NY 12186.
