Long Beach Jazz takes center stage
From Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 15-18, the Long Beach Public Library is proud to present the 14th Annual Long Beach Jazz Festival. As always, the festival will be produced by local resident and musician, Steve Adelson, and will feature music from two-dozen acts in the library’s auditorium. The event is free. Catch a Sharks game
The Sharks, Long Beach’s new junior hockey team, began their season last week and will now host the Cape Cod Islanders on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. at the Long Beach Ice Arena. The squad consists of 17- to 20-year-old athletes, recruited nationally and internationally, who hope to play college hockey. Tickets are $5.
Suicide Prevention Walk
The Long Island Crisis Center walk to prevent suicide will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18. LICC supports healthy living and personal empowerment. Register at Laurelton Boulevard and the boardwalk at 10:30 a.m. Visit www.longislandcrisiscenter.org or call (516) 826-0244 for more information.
Unsound Surf Pro hits Long Beach
