Car Show in East Rockaway - it's a classic!

Summertime show, music, food, fun Aug. 5-Sept. 2

The Village of East Rockaway, along with the Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Classic Car Show every Wednesday evening from August 5 through September 2.

The idea orginate with classic car owner and East Rockaway resident Richie Cittadino, who has attended and participated in many of these events in neighboring communities. "I though this would be perfect for East Rockaway," said Cittadino, who is chairman of the event. "A chance to get people together to see some great cars, listen to music, and do some shopping."
Cittadino, whose 1972 Monte Carlo will be on display at the car show, said that many local businesses are on board with the idea.
Main Street, from Villa Maria and Goldie's Liquor, down to the Main Street Firehouse and Wardon's Deli, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Some merchants in the area will be open for business (Villa Maria, Jeannie's Bakery, Wardon's, and others.) The group Powerglide will be performing at about 7 p.m. The event is weather permitting.
