East Rockaway woman arrested

An East Rockaway woman was arrested on Dec. 22 for reckless endangerment and grand larceny that occurred in Plainview between Nov. 10, 2010 and Nov. 9, 2011.

According to detectives, Theresa Pawlowski, 57, of Kirgan Court, East Rockaway, removed numerous rectal suppository syringes containing Diastat (Diazapam gel) from locked cabinets while working as a registered nurse at AHRC located at 980 Washington Ave. The defendant administered the Diastat to herself while she was on duty as an overnight nurse in charge of developmentally disabled adults with severe medical needs. She would then place the empty syringes back into the cabinet.

Second Squad detectives arrested Pawlowski on Dec. 22 after surrendering herself at the Second Precinct. She is being charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and endangering incompetent persons. The defendant was arraigned on Dec. 23 in First District Court, Hempstead.

Police seek suspect in Cail Drive incident

The Fourth Squad is investigating a robbery that occurred in East Rockaway on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10 a.m.

According to detectives, a 76-year-old male was in the garage of his residence on Cail Drive when an unknown male white subject entered through an open door displaying a handgun. The subject removed an unknown amount of money from the victim’s wallet and fled the scene on foot eastbound towards Emmet Avenue.

The subject is described as having a beard and wearing a black hat with brim, black waist length coat and light pants. No injuries were reported.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Arrests

On Dec. 28 at 10 p.m, a 31-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested and charged with assault. The victim was a 26-year-old female from Nassau County. The assault occurred at a Vincent Ave residence

On Dec. 23 at 2:06 p.m. an 18-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested and charged with Petit Larceny from a residence on Clifford Street.
