Romping good fun at 76th annual Rock Rivalry

East Rockaway High School held its 76th annual Rock Rivalry competition, culminating in lively Entrance skits, beautiful murals and gorgeous stands last Friday night. The event was coordinated this year by teacher Nick Cimorelli.

This year, The Juniors won the traditional competition with a score of 74/100, followed by the Sophomores with a 72.25; the Seniors with 70.75, and the Freshmen with 27.

The Juniors presented “French Fried,” a skit with a Moulin Rouge theme; the Sophomores presented “How Jazz was Maid,” featuring a maid looking for adventure and the Jazz Festival; the Seniors presented “Who Me? Couldn’t Be!” featuring the Whos, the Grinch and other well-known characters; and the Freshmen presented “Dream On,” a romp featurin the Mario Bros.

The total scoring included results from Entrance, stand construction, mural, backdrops, costumes, and Sports Night, held previously.
