Wants to shut down ‘machine’

To the Editor:

After numerous highly publicized and self-proclaimed successful fundraisers by the Village Pride Party, Francis Lenahan now is asking all residents to send him at least $11 to fund his campaign. Why? Because they have spent everything they raised by sending out their weekly lies — and now they need more.

Is this how he will run this village? Keep spending and then ask for more? When you have no experience running anything, it’s easy to think that this is acceptable when you’re part of machine politics and you have no say as to what goes on.

What if you are not part of the machine? Is this acceptable? Vote Meagher, Klose and Levitt on March 15 and shut down the machine.

Vote for my dependable father

To the Editor:

My dad, Ed Corrado, is the finest man I know.  He will be a great village trustee for East Rockaway.

My father is a multifaceted man. He can give a detailed policy presentation, as he did for years while working for New York’s telecommunications companies, or he will lend a hand cleaning coffee pots around St. Raymond’s if it needs to get done.

My father is not afraid to get his hands dirty and always gets the job done right the first time.  Why?  Because this is the kind of guy my father is — dependable.

I remember the time I dropped my house keys in a waterfall upstate. When I returned to our cabin, I wasn’t able to get into the house. I called Dad and he didn’t think twice about driving 2½ hours to deliver a backup set of keys — and he drove back home that same night. A five-hour drive just to make sure his daughter was safe.

That’s why I’m certain Ed Corrado will take care of us as a village trustee — because he’s taken such good care of me and our family for years.

I’ve known my dad all my life and will challenge anyone to find a more fair, honest and trustworthy candidate for office.
