Lynbrook middle student raises money for cause

Posted

Lynbrook South Middle School student Grant Gilbert organized a fundraiser at his school, selling tickets for an Islanders game to raise money for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. With the help of Student Government members, he was able to raise $220 for this worthy cause.

“Grant is a caring, well-rounded and motivated eighth grader,” said teacher James Fanning. “He went to an Islander’s game and saw the type of philanthropy they did and was inspired to do something similar. His father suggested that he try to sell tickets at a discounted price and donate the proceeds to a charity. Student Council members Sean Hynes, Ray Farrell and Cody Bubenheimer joined his cause, helping him promote the fundraiser.”
