Students support the I.S.L.E. program

Through the NY Islanders’ I.S.L.E. program, students at West End and South Middle schools in Lynbrook learned valuable lessons about hockey and teamwork.
Representatives from the Islanders visited their school with Islanders Mascot Sparky the Dragon for an assembly program called “We’re All Islanders.”
Through hands-on activities, they demonstrated that when people work together, they can accomplish a common goal that they could not achieve on their own. Students learned that participation, respect, sharing common objectives and working together are all important components to building a successful team in the sports arena, as well as in other areas of life.
