Partly Cloudy School districts rezoned
Some Lynbrook homes in Marion Street, Waverly Park elementary districts affected
Certain addresses within the Lynbrook School district, formerly apart of an eliminated optional school zone for Marion Street and Waverly Park elementary schools, are now only be zoned for Waverly Park. Residents in this zone were formerly able to chose which school their children would attend.
The resolution, which was adopted by the Board of Education last spring and was announced at the last school district board meeting, will affect select houses on Alden Road, Davis Street, Carmen Avenue, Davison Avenue in East Rockaway, Grant Avenue, Main Street, Salem Road, 24-30 Flint Road and 42-100 Plymouth Road.
Not all houses on those roads will be involved. The district will send out letters to those select homeowners and announce this information in their upcoming newsletter, according to board president Cathy Papandrew. No waver option will be offered.
