Lynbrook South Middle School was evacuated at around noon on June 2 after a teacher found a threatening message on a classroom desk, according to the district’s website.

The teacher immediately notified the administration and the district and notified the Nassau County Police Department of the message, which included a bomb. Students were evacuated from the building and moved to Marion Street Elementary School while police conducted their investigation. “The safety of our students and staff is top priority and we will continue to enforce all security protocol,” read the message on the district’s homepage.

Police cleared the school later in the afternoon and the students returned to class.
