Full election results for West Hempstead, Malverne, East Rockaway, Lynbrook

Voters defeated the West Hempstead School District's proposed budget Tuesday night, 1,370 against to 1,169 in favor. 

West Hempstead Superintendent Dan Rehman said the district will hold meetings to seek input on a revised budget. 

“The community has spoken. We have work to do. We will always be open to the community, and we’re going to have meetings to discuss this.”

Malverne

Voters approved Malverne's proposed budget 394-130. Voters also approved Proposition 2, which will allow the district to make building upgrades, 369-84.

The approved budget will increase taxes 1.85 percent.

Lynbrook

Voters overwhelmingly approved Lynbrook's proposed budget 1,271-373.

Voters also approved three propositions by wide margins. Incumbent trustees Ellen Marcus, Patrick Palleschi, and Tara Aragona won seats on the board. Challenger Jennifer Saia was not elected to the board. 

Ellen Marcus (incumbent): 1,025

Tara Aragona: 1,116

Patrick Palleschi (incumbent): 1,068

Jennifer Saia: 699

East Rockaway

East Rockaway's proposed budget was adopted by voters 354-161. Two propositions were also approved by voters that will allow the district to upgrade facilities.

Incumbent Trustees Dineen Cilluffo and Aspasia "Ozzie" Lonergan ran uncontested and were reelected. Lonergan received 399 votes while Cilluffo received 384 votes.
