Fair A book and a show

Maurice W. Downing students performed a staged production of the children’s book “A Bad Case of Stripes.”

Maurice W. Downing Primary School celebrated some of its best readers during a Reader’s Theatre. First- and second-graders played various roles and performed “A Bad Case of Stripes” for their peers.
The experience allows students to work on their reading and presentation skills, which are all components of the new Common Core curriculum.
