Breaking ground on old memories and new friendships

Five years of history unfolded for former students of Davison Avenue Intermediate School in Malverne when they visited their old school to unearth a time capsule they had buried in the schoolyard in 2008. After digging up the capsule in a ceremony., the students retired to the science lab and examined the contents of their time capsule, finding old photos of the students and their notes about their experiences five years ago. These older students — who are now in grades 6 through 9 at Howard T. Herber Middle School and Malverne High School — were happy to share their memories of the “good old days” with current Davison Avenue students and reveled in how much their old school had changed in five years.
