Stepping Back In Time

Faire Days
There’s still time to take a journey back to the days of 14th Century royal revelry at the colorful Medieval Festival on the grounds of Sands Point Preserve. The popular event features knights in shining armor, medieval archers and kings and queens. The day begins with a procession of the Royal Court to the viewing stand, where knights battle for entertainment of the king and queen. Knights on horseback thrill the crowds with jousting behind Hempstead House, along with period entertainment, and more fun and games throughout the weekend.
Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. $12, $6 children 4-12. Sands Point Preserve, 127 Middleneck Rd., Sands Point. (516) 956-8750 or www.kingdomofacre.org.
