Breaking: W.H. man charged with secretly recording 19-year-old

A West Hempstead man has been arrested for alleged unlawful surveillance of a 19 year old girl.

Walter Rivas, 45,  reportedly went to the young woman's apartment after she hired Joroba Pest Control to exterminate her home. After some of the chemicals he was spraying got on the woman's clothes, Rivas allegedly advised her to change her clothes because the chemicals were harmful and poisonous.

Police say that after the young woman changed her clothes, she noticed a cellphone recording her from her bed, in a bucket with a hole. She immediately called 911

Riveras was arrested after an investigation. He is charged with Unlawful Surveillance in the 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned today at First District Court, at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
