High school students hold school-supply drive for Haiti orhpans

Posted

The Black Studies Club at Malverne High School held a special school-supply drive last month to benefit students at an orphanage in Haiti. The club held fundraisers and collected supply donations for several weeks before packaging everything for transport. Advisor Florence Balay, a chemistry teacher at the high school, had worked at an orphanage in Haiti over the summer and was able to coordinate for these supplies to go directly to the children in that orphanage. Members of the club are pictured with some of their collected supplies.
