Malverne fourth graders move on up

Posted

Fourth graders at Malverne’s Davison Avenue Intermediate School celebrated one of several rites of passage to middle school as they all joined together for a yearbook breakfast. The soon-to-be graduates enjoyed a hot breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bagels served up by the PTA. After breakfast, students received their keepsake yearbooks, which they passed around for friends and teachers to sign.

The event was organized by fourth-grade teacher Cynthia Thorp and PTA President Laura Avvinti. Special thanks were given to PTA parent Toni Marco, whose company, Emory Printing of Mineola, printed the yearbook. Congratulatory advertisements placed by parents and local businesses helped defray the costs of the breakfast and the yearbook.
