With Hanukkah here and Christmas on the way, residents of the two communities gathered to celebrate with menorah and Christmas-tree lightings and holiday parties.
In Malverne there was a menorah lighting on Dec. 1 and an entire day — Dec. 4 — dedicated to Santa Claus, parades and The Lighting of Malverne.
