Children are invited to the Lakeview Public Library for some basic tips about coding on Saturday, Dec. 21, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The classes will feature experts from TecEquity. Teenagers are volunteering to wrap holiday gifts this season at the West Hempstead Public Library on Sunday, Dec. 22, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Residents can bring the item (no larger than 15” x 15”) and the library provide wrapping paper, bows and a gift tag. Hunt the habitat for nocturnal neighbors at Old Westbury Gardens, Saturday, Dec. 21, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A wildlife expert from Volunteers for Wildlife will bring live owls and then lead an outdoor search.
