State selects two students of the year from Malverne High School

Malverne High School seniors Niguel Williams and Shakara Richardson were recently chosen as New York State Physical Education Students of the Year. Each year, the district selects one male and one female student for the award.

Selection is not based upon who is the best athlete, as much as it is upon student participation and demonstration of responsibility in physical education classes.

Niguel and Shakara will be honored by Mara Manson, president of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, at an awards ceremony for Nassau County students in December at the Crest Hollow Country Club.
