Students rally for upcoming Relay for Life

In an effort to get students excited about the upcoming first ever Relay for Life in Malverne, the Maurice W. Downing Primary School recently hosted a Relay for Life Pep Rally for its students. All kindergarten, first and second graders went to the high school gymnasium and participated in several cheers and chants that rallied student spirit and support for the cause. During the pep rally, one of the organizers for Downing’s Relay for Life fundraisers, Mrs. Robles, announced that the school had raised more than $4,300 for the cause to date.

Following the pep rally, students went to the high school track and participated in several activities, including walking the track and relay events. The actual Relay for Life begins at Malverne High School on Friday, May 20.
