Thank you, Assemblymen, for listening

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank and compliment Assemblyman Brian Curran for hosting the Malverne Town Hall meeting on May 26 at Malverne Village Hall. I would also like to thank Assemblyman Ed Ra, Councilman Jim Darcy, Malverne Trustees Joe Hennessy, Jack O’Brian and Michael Bailey as well as Mayor Patti McDonald for cohosting this event.

The meeting was extremely informative and very well run. Assemblyman Curran brought us up to date on the current status of the restoration of the Malverne morning train and the water quality in Malverne. Our local elected officials made us proud that evening, as they were extremely receptive to questions from residents on local issues affecting Malverne residents. I was happy to see that our newly elected assemblymen and local officials are listening to the needs and concerns of the people they serve.

The evening began to restore my faith in our local leaders, and gave me renewed hope of excellence in government.
