Work up a sweat and get fit with some kickboxing at the Lakeview Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Join kickboxing instructor Cess for this high-energy workout. Movie screening at Crossroads Farm
Crossroads Farm at Grossman’s will host a screening of the film, “SEED: The Untold Story,” on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. to launch their 2018 seed saving efforts. From 6:30 to 7 p.m., there will be a vines and branches olive oil tasting, and the film will follow. After the film, the farm will have a seed swap and discussion. Exhibit opening
Visit Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County for a special Curator’s Corner presentation opening the new exhibit, “Celia Goetz: The Aggressive War Chief of Nuremberg.” The event, on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. examines Judge Goetz and the legacy of the Nuremberg Trials. A tuneful evening with Helen Sung
The pianist-composer brings an all-star band to Tilles Center for a concert highlighting her new release “Sung With Words,” her first recording to feature original vocal compositions that feature the poems of California Poet Laureate Dana Gioia as lyrics.
