Arrest for Oceanside Grand Larceny

Nassau County Police detectives report the arrest for grand larceny and multiple petit larcenies that occurred in Oceanside and Garden City that began Sept. 26 and continued through Wednesday Oct. 26.

According to detectives, Rohan Esberry, 39, of 19001 Nashville 1, Springfield Gardens, entered Bath and Body Works in the Sands Shopping center at 3559 Long Beach Rd. in Oceanside, on Oct. 26, at 10:45 a.m. He allegedly took items from a shelf valued at $126, concealed them in a bag and left the store without paying. Security officers stopped him outside the store and notified police. An investigation revealed that Esberry committed three additional larcenies from Bath and Body Works in the same Oceanside store on Sept. 26, Oct. 21 and Oct. 25, and at the East Garden City store on Sept. 26, causing the stores a total loss in the amount of $3,175. A female, who acted in concert with the defendant in one of the larcenies, has not yet been arrested.

Esberry is being charged with two counts of Grand Larceny 4th Degree and three counts of Petit Larceny. He will be arraigned on Oct. 27 in First District Court, Hempstead.
