Firefighters douse flames at Valley Stream home

Posted

Firefighters extinguished a blaze in a Hamilton Avenue home in Valley Stream at about 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 20, according to village fire officials.

Chief James Ervolino of the Valley Stream Fire Department said that he does not believe anyone was home at the time of the fire because firefighters had to kick down the door to get inside the house. The only damage was to the house, no injuries were reported.

“Hewlett and Lynbrook covered us while we were operating the fire,” he said. “Everyone got out and everyone did a great job.”

The Nassau County Fire Marshall is investigating what caused the fire.
