A clean sweep for south Merrick

Posted

The South Merrick Community Civic Association is continuing a yearly tradition this month with its “Spring Clean Sweeps” at several neighborhood mainstays like Camman’s Pond Park, Julian Lane Park and the Merrick post office. SMCCA invites community members to help with beautification projects and clearing litter and debris on Sunday mornings in May at these locations.

Close to 20 people, including a local Girl Scout troop, lent a hand at 10 a.m. on Sunday at Camman’s Pond, located beside Levy-Lakeside Elementary School.

SMCCA President Joe Baker said the association would be back at it at 10 a.m. on May 18 at Camman’s Pond and at 10 a.m. on May 25 at Julian Lane, weather permitting.
