A mother-daughter moment at Levy-Lakeside's 60th anniversary celebration

Posted

Among the special guests at Levy-Lakeside Elementary School’s recent 60th anniversary celebration was Sheri Iskendarian, left, a Merrick School District Board of Education trustee whose four children attended Levy-Lakeside. Joining Iskendarian was her daughter Kara, center, and Dr. Christine Grucci, the Merrick district’s assistant superintendent for business and technology. At the celebration, Levy-Lakeside Principal Elizabeth Trencheny unveiled a permanent photography exhibit in the school’s main hall, titled “Merrick, Then and Now,” which juxtaposes historical photographs against present-day photographs of Merrick. The school’s site-based team developed the project. For more, check out “Levy-Lakeside celebrates 60 years of learning” at liherald.com/merrick.
