At last, snow blankets the Merricks and Bellmores

By 8 a.m. on Saturday, the Merricks and Bellmores were coated in an inch of snow, and another two to three inches were expected to fall by the end of the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Streets were passable, but coated with snow and ice.

The Sacred Heart School in North Merrick cancelled all religious education activities for the day.
