Bellmore-Merrick Central District honors outstanding students, athletes

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District had five National Merit Finalists this year. Among the honorees were: center, from left, Laura Serbin, Jun Luke Foster, Daniel Qui and Matthew Stern. Missing was Michelle Dimino. Joining them were Central District Superintendent Dr. Henry Kiernan and Board of Education Trustee Nina Lanci.

The Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District took time out of its regular meeting on Wednesday to honor five outstanding students, as well as champion wrestlers, runners and an air rifle markswoman.
Among the honorees were:
Kelly Bogart, Calhoun High School, All-County in air rifle.
Joseph Chiaffitella and Macaulay Maldarelli, Calhoun High School, Nassau County wrestling champions.
The entire Calhoun High School indoor track team, Nassau County Class A champions.
Jun Luke Foster and Daniel Qui, Calhoun High School; Laura Serbin and Matthew Stern, Kennedy High School; Michelle Dimino, Mepham High School, National Merit Finalists.
