Congregation Beth Ohr to host a modern day hero

On Sunday, Jan. 7, come and meet Aaron Goldenberg. Born in South Africa and raised in Florida, he pursued his dream to become a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces.

He joined a special operations unit in the Navy while training as a combat trauma medic, all while trying not to get lost in translation. Now, after two and a half years, he's traveling back to America on leave before he returns to Israel to continue his service in the IDF.

"It's important to me to help foster strong Jewish Communities to stand proudly and firmly against anti-Semitism and the dangers that come with it, so during my time in the states, I'll have the pleasure of speaking with and sharing my experiences in Israel with the American Jewish communities," Goldenberg said.

The event will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Beth Ohr, 2550 Centre Avenue, in Bellmore.
