Camp Avenue’s wax museum comes back to life

Influential figures both past and present came to life at Camp Avenue School in the North Merrick School District during their annual living wax museum event on Feb. 14.

Leaders in technology, science, mathematics, sports and more were represented by third graders who dressed the part from head to toe. Students’ selected subjects were immediately identifiable due to their thorough costuming, including entire outfits, wigs and fake beards. Third grade classes spent months researching their historic figure in preparation for the living wax museum and put together reports about their subjects. Parents toured the exhibit, stopping to ask questions about the accomplishments and societal influences brought about by each leader. Students impressed the purveyors with their sharp knowledge about the individual they represented.
