Car careens off Sunrise Highway

Merrick Fire Department volunteers and Nassau County Police officers joined forces when a westbound car ran off the Sunrise Highway on the night of Aug. 24, near Henry Street in Merrick. The vehicle was imbedded in the woods along the Long Island Rail Road tracks, covered in branches. The car’s injured occupant was taken to a local hospital. No further information was available at press time.
