Class Night goes to the teachers

Posted

Kennedy High School's annual Class Night, in which the four grades compete in good-natured, camp-like games, had a twist to it this year.

Instead of the grades facing off, teachers and administrators took to the gym to compete on four teams. The yellow team consisted of social studies and phys. ed. teachers. The red team was made up of teachers from the Science, Language, and Business departments. The blue team comprised the Math, Music and Special Education departments. And the orange team drew members from the English, Guidance and Art departments, as well as from the school administration.

The event, organized by Student Government, allowed students to see a side of teachers rarely seen in the classroom. The four teams competed in jousting, sumo wrestling, scooter relays, musical chairs and tug of war. Student Government President Jared Lerman and event coordinator Mike Mayo emceed the night.
