Dancing the night away for a cause

Posted

Residents of the Bellmores and Merricks danced the night away last Friday in support of the Bellmore-Merrick Community Wellness Council’s Midnight Madness substance-free post-prom party when the council hosted a zumba class at the Brookside School in North Merrick.

Midnight Madness, held annually after Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham’s proms, allows graduates to continue celebrating after the prom, with no pressure to drink or do drugs.

The zumba class was just part of the evening for the Wellness Council. Guests were treated to vendors like Avon and Pampered Chef. There were also raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

If you'd like to make a donation to help out with the Midnight Madness party, call the Community Wellness Council at (516) 992-1073.
