East Meadow Soccer Club to hold camps, classes

The East Meadow Soccer Club, a nonprofit youth organization founded in 1971, is holding a series of camps and classes for players over the summer. Part of the proceeds from these professionally run camps will be returned to EMSC teams. Players do not have to be a part of the EMSC to sign up. The following provides a description of the offerings:

Youth Camp Series

This camp is open to all players 8-14 years old from June 28-July 1 and July 19-22, 8:30a.m.-noon at Speno Park in East Meadow. Sign up for one camp – EMSC members - $165; sign up for both camps - $285; non- EMSC members - sign up for one camp - $190; sign up for both camps - $300.

EMSC Coaching Director Jeff Gross and his staff will emphasize technical excellence and small-sided play, introducing several moves to help players gain confidence in their game. The camps will include a number of competitive, but fun-filled tournaments.

U-10 Fall Icebreaker Camp

This camp is for any EMSC player taking part in U10 travel for the fall 2010-spring 2011 soccer year. The camp will take place at Speno Park from Aug. 9-12, with the times to be determined. EMSC members - $165; non-members - $190

Sign up for U10 Fall Icebreaker and Youth Camp Series - $400. If you sign up for the U10 Icebreaker and Youth Camp Series, you can attend any combination of the camps.

Developmental Introduction Camp

This camp is for any player signing up for, or considering signing up for, the EMSC Developmental Program (ages U7-U9) in the fall of 2010. This camp will take place Aug. 16-19 from 8:30 a.m.-noon at Speno Park. EMSC members - $165; non-EMSC members - $190.

Sign up for the Developmental Introduction Camp and Youth Camp Series - $400. If you sign up for the Developmental and Youth Camp Series, you can attend any combination of the camps.

Moves Master Skills Series

This series includes eight one-hour classes focusing on soccer moves. EMSC members - $165 per player; non-EMSC members - $190. Recommended for players U10-U14, including premier and developing players.

The classes will take place Wednesdays, June 16-Aug. 14. Times are U10-U11 6-7:15 p.m.; U12 and older 7:30-8:45 p.m. The location will be East Meadow’s Field of Dreams.
