Mostly Cloudy Editor named finalist in Press Club competition

Scott Brinton, senior editor of the Merrick and Bellmore Heralds, has been named a finalist in two categories –– News and Editorial Writing –– in the Press Club of Long Island’s annual Media Awards competition.
In the News Writing category, Brinton entered "Prepping for the Big One," an in-depth look at dramatic changes to flood insurance policies issued by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In the Editorial Writing category, Brinton entered "Heroin, a scourge we must face."
He will learn whether he placed first, second or third at an awards banquet at the Woodbury Country Club in June.
