Five Kennedy seniors earn Intel badges

Posted

The Society for Science & The Public has awarded Intel Science Talent Search badges to five –– count ’em, five –– Kennedy High School students.

Research Report Badges recognize a high level of research and writing. Initiative Badges honor commitment to a project. And then there are Semifinalist and Finalist Badges as well. Honored Kennedy seniors include: Cory Epstein, Rachel Mashal, Sarah Moussavi, Evan Rothchild and Amanda Steinberg. Here are profiles on each of them:

Corey Epstein
From: Bellmore
Age: 17
Will Attend: Undecided
Intel Badge: Initiative

Corey Epstein is all about bringing people together. He’s a student ambassador on the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s One Voice, One Message committee. He also led the district’s Ties for Ties campaign last fall, which collected more than 10,000 ties for charity and set a Guinness World Record for most number of ties knotted together. So it should come as no surprise that Epstein’s research was focused on bringing people together.
