Dr. Yanina Krayevsky proudly announces that, after nearly a decade of practicing dentistry on Long Island, she has opened an office of her own. Island Smile Dental is an ultra-state-of-the art practice, completely computerized from front desk to treatment rooms. Digital x-rays and cameras are used for diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as for the comfort of her patients.

In addition to all phases of general dentistry, Dr. Krayevsky performs with laser, does all types of cosmetic dentistry, root canals, extractions, clear braces and implant restoration. The most up-to-date sterilization equipment is used, and all guidelines for infection control are precisely followed.

At Island Smile, adults and children love the cutting edge techniques of the laser dentistry, as there are no needles. It's a more comfortable and less invasive experience. Island Smile Dental features the Waterlase MD laser from Biolase, which assures more precision and control, taking much less time than traditional dentistry.

Laser can eliminate the need for anesthesia, avoid excessive bleeding and stitches after surgery, and reduce the recovery time. Among the many other advantages, laser can also be used for cavity preparation with no drills, root canal sterilization, and periodontal work (reshaping of the gums, for example) with no cutting.

Yet another high-tech feature at Island Smile is the Digital X-ray. Advantages are the reduction of exposure to radiation, less waiting time for results, shorter appointments and a better understanding of the diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Krayevsky received her Doctor of Dental Surgery at SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, and then completed an advanced residency program in general dentistry at SUNY Stony Brook, where she worked closely with specialists in every dental field. She attended an additional two years at New York University College of Dentistry Center for Implantalogy, focusing on surgical and prosthetics.
