Legislator Denenberg hosts a night out for safety's sake

It was a beautiful day at Cow Meadow Park, and many Bellmore and Merrick residents turned out to show their support at National Night Out.

Nassau County Legislator Dave Denenberg, a Democrat from Merrick, recently hosted the 29th annual National Night Out at Cow Meadow Park in Freeport.
The event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Many Merrick and Bellmore residents turned out to show their support at the event, and representatives from the Nassau County Police Department Explorers program were also on hand. Denenberg was assisted in hosting the event by county legislators Kevan Abrahams and Joseph Scannell.
