Levy-Lakeside students honored during Foreign Languages Week

Students at Levy-Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick recently took part in the annual National Foreign Languages Poster and Essay Contest. Winners included, back row, from left, Alexandra Brinton, Chloe Abramovich, Ilana Wilk and Jennifer Rakhimov; middle row, Rebecca Cortez, Jenna Hinden, Rachel Wilk, Shelby Meyerhoff, Isabella Infuso and Tian Colby; and from row, Claudia Dreyer, Alexa Goldfarb, Joey Saiag, Andrew Brinton and Emily Glick. Joining the children to celebrate their accomplishments were Levy-Lakeside Principal Elizabeth Trencheny, Spanish teacher Toni Allen and Assistant Principal Sean Murray.

The Merrick School District offers Spanish as a special in grades three to six.
