Madness squad takes third in bracket at regionals

The Merrick Madness 12-year-old softball team, which recently won the New York State Williamsport title, ended the Eastern Regional Tournament of Champions in Albany this past week in third place in its bracket. The team finished the competition with a 2-2 record, defeating the reigning champions, Pennsylvania, as well as Maryland. The Madness beat Maryland on Wednesday, on the teams final day in the tournament, 10-1.

Brooke Jones, a mother on the team, said, "I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these amazing ladies."
