Merrick Fire Dep't to host 9/11 ceremony on Friday

The Merrick Fire Department will hold a memorial service to commemorate fallen M.F.D. members who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The service will take place Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Merrick Firefighter's 9/11 Memorial at Merrick Avenue and Sunrise Highway. The event, which will also honor fallen community members, will feature patriotic musical tributes by Merrick native Rebecca Posteraro and former Merrick firefighter and member of the Nassau County Pipes & Drums Rich Roeill.
