Merrick flips for Kiwanis pancake breakfast

Posted

Merokeans of all ages flocked to the Calhoun High School cafeteria for the Kiwanis Club of Merrick’s annual pancake breakfast on Sunday.

Aside from serving up pancakes, sausages, orange juice and coffee, the club collected donations of non-perishable food items for those in need. There was also a free blood-pressure screening, a sports memorabilia silent auction, visits by surprise guests and a book sale.

Volunteers from the Merrick Avenue Middle School Builders' Club and the Calhoun Key Club served the breakfast and greeted patrons.
