Merrick Mets win 10- and 11-year-old World Series

The Merrick-North Merrick Little League’s AAA Mets recently won the World Series in the 10- and 11-year-old division, becoming league champions. The Mets defeated the Yankees 8-6 before a large crowd to win the World Series. Above are, top row, from left, Mets Manager David Slavin, player Matt Kahles, and Coach Simon; bottom row, Nolan Slovinsky, Evan Ross, Cooper Slavin, Antonio Francavilla, Skyler Gershon, Kevin Hannon, Andrew Ackerman, Jack Frohnhofer, Tommy Rosenthal and Christian Ridge. Missing is Coach Barry Slovinsky.
