Merrick's under-10 travel baseball team won not one but two tournaments in the past week. On Aug. 11, Merrick defeated Plainview 6-1 to win the Oceanside Summer Tournament Championship in the 10U division. On Aug. 12, the squad beat the HBQVB (the Hollis-Bellaire-Queens Village-Bellerose Athletic Association) team 18-8 to win the HBQVB Nick Lomangino U10 Championship.
