N. Merrick Library kicks off concert series with Johnny Cash tribute

The North Merrick Public Library kicked off its summer concert series on July 14 with "Johnny and June: A Tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash." Husband and wife duet, Rob and Patty Walsh, played fan favorites such as "Walk the Line," "Ring of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues" to a delighted crowd. Carter family classics, "Wildwood Flower," "Jukebox Blues" and "Keep on the Sunny Side of Life" also made the evening's playlist.

The library's popular concert series will continue on Aug. 18 with an outdoor showing of "Salute the Fabulous Legends: Part II," a musical tribute to legendary singers and entertainers, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Elvis, Connie Francis, Joni James. Picnic blankets and suppers are encouraged.
