The North Merrick Special Education PTA's walkathon fundraiser last Saturday was a time for families and friends to come together.

The North Merrick Special Education PTA held its annual Walkathon under sunny skies on Saturday at the Norman J. Levy Park and Preserve in Merrick. About 75 people took part in the event, and SEPTA raised $1,000. Proceeds will go to the three elementary schools in the North Merrick School District, and will help pay for new supplies, books and other necessities.
