North Merrick Public Library drops balloons at noon

Kids had the opportunity to welcome the new year at the North Merrick Public Library — ringing in the new year at noon on Sunday.

Noon Year’s Eve is a family-friendly celebration for children who may not be staying up to celebrate at midnight. The countdown to noon welcomes children to join the festivities and activities during the daytime.

Along with all the fanfare of the typical midnight celebration, the event is accompanied by activities and games for children.

There was plenty of coloring and dancing to go around, but the highlight of the North Merrick event was welcoming 2024 with a balloon drop as the clock struck noon.
