Some school dismissal times change and most after-school activities are cancelled Tuesday in Bellmore-Merrick

Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s three high schools and two middle schools will dismiss students earlier than usual Tuesday due to the snowstorm moving into the area. Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham high schools will end their school day at 1:30 p.m. today, and Grand Avenue and Merrick Avenue middle schools will end their school day at 2:15 p.m. There will be no late buses at any of the schools, and all afternoon and evening activities in the district are cancelled.

The Merrick and North Merrick school districts, which comprise Birch, Chatterton, Levy-Lakeside, Camp Avenue, Fayette and Old Mill Road schools, will have normal school dismissals today, but after-school activities in both districts are cancelled. North Merrick School District’s childcare program will remain open today, but school officials are encouraging parents to pick up their children as early as possible today.
