The Bellmores and Merricks to mark Memorial Day with parades

The Bellmores

On Monday, May 28, join local veterans for the Bellmores' Memorial Day parade, which will begin at 9 a.m. with a ceremony and presentation of the wreaths at the Bellmore Veterans Memorial, at Bedford Avenue and Broadway in Bellmore Village. The parade will start at 10 a.m. and head north on Bedford Avenue to Oak Street before continuing north on Bellmore Avenue. The procession will end at the Newbridge Road School and the North Bellmore Library, where there will be a second wreath-laying ceremony at about 11 a.m. All are welcome to attend

The Merricks

Participants in the Merricks’ Memorial Day parade will gather on Monday, May 28, at 8:45 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza, formerly Broadcast Plaza, between Merrick and Brooklyn avenues. Merrick American Legion Post No. 1282 will once again host the Merricks' Memorial Day parade and ceremony. The procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. and head north on Merrick Avenue to the Veterans Monument at Lee Avenue, where a ceremony will be held. All are welcome to attend.
